Hard Days Can Be The Best Days

Last night, 16 year old Gabby Douglas became the first African American to win the Women’s All Around Gymnastics Olympic Competition. Wow! When asked if this highly coveted gold medal was everything she thought it would be she responded “I give all the glory to God”. Despite how proud I am of Gabby, I must admit that I wasn’t “moved” by her comment, because I’ve heard gangster rappers to celebrity vixens say similar when on the world stage. Amen somebody.

Towards the end of the interview she reflected on the dedication, effort put in the gym and hard days and said “hard days are the best, because that’s where champions are made, so if you push through the hard days, then you can get through anything.”

Could this mean that there are no bad days?

Dear Lord help us to be thankful for the good and hard days.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us".
