Should A Woman Preach? The Devil Is A Liar!

The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says. (1 Corinthians 14:34)

There are many varying opinions and interpretations of scripture. Some suggest that the bible is obscure or that "it's a living word", which means, it is ever changing and at anytime could mean whatever they conclude. In actuality the bible says of itself, that it is inerrant, infallible and immutable. Without errors, incapable of making mistakes and unchanging over time. Furthermore, to suggest obscurity is not an indictment on the Word of God, but rather proves the scripture found in 1 Corinthians 13:5 "For we know in part, and we prophesy in part."

Remember the popular saying "God said it, I believe it and that settles it?" Well, I said it and sung it too. Nevertheless, it was misleading. The truth is, it was settled when He said it. We must remember that our opinion or interpretation of scripture is vain, powerless, liable and insufficient.

SCRIPTURE CAN ONLY BE INTERPRETED OR AFFIRMED BY SCRIPTURE.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Some read a verse or two and wait for the spirit to bring revelation. That's mysticism.

You might as well open your own palm reading business.

And, if you do, the church will still accept your tithes, but not your lies. That's a joke, but I ain't lying.

Herein lies (no pun intended) the botheration. People lack truth, because they are not pursuant to it, but ironically, are compelled to pursue lies in the absence of it.

Truth is that there are many people that should not be preaching in the pulpit or on Facebook. Not because of their sex/gender or the group of busybodies at the Corinthian church, referenced in our topic scripture, but because many people refuse to study and preach within context (2 Timothy 2:15).

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Because you have rejected knowledge,

I also will reject you from being My priest. (Hosea 4:6a)

Here are a few helpful study tips:

1. Context
2. History
3. Word Studies of original language and translation- Hebrew/Greek

A good study bible and a Hebrew and Greek lexicon can accomplish all of the above and are readily available online and at your local Christian bookstore. Study! It ain't mystical.
