“One of the things that make billionaires successful
is their reaction to failure.” Robert Frank, Wall Street Journal
Proverbs
24:16 - "Even if good people fall seven times, they will get back up. But
when trouble strikes the wicked, that's the end of them."
So what! Things didn’t
work out the way you hoped. Does that mean you failed? Or do you know what NOT
to do next time? I think it was Theodore Roosevelt who said, “The only man who
never makes a mistake is the man who never does anything.” Often times God has
to allow a door to close in order to help us not go down the wrong road or to
get us headed in another direction.
We must trust in God and
not solely on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). But, we must also have a
clear understanding of the business, career and or person that we are pursuing. The bible says “The beginning of wisdom is:
Acquire wisdom; And with all your acquiring, get understanding (Proverbs 4:7).”
So, slow your roll. Do your homework. And, when you pray, be sure to do more listening than giving instructions.
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but
you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do
according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way
prosperous, and then you will have
success. Joshua 1:8
