Be Patient and Don't Rush God

"But when you are invited, go and recline at the last place, so that when the one who has invited you comes, he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher’; then you will have honor in the sight of all who are at the table with you. " Luke 14:10 (NASB)

This scripture appears to encourage false humility by suggesting that we fake like we want a lesser position, all the while coveting a higher post. NOT SO. It's simply saying It's not our party, so let's not just walk into the V.I.P. section. Amen somebody!

"Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling." (Proverbs 16:18).

Pride and false humility have the same nature. The difference is that false humility is camouflaged.

WAIT ON THE LORD

Remember Joshua and Caleb were both under Moses' leadership. They both went out and spied the land as instructed by Moses. Joshua later became Moses' successor and got his own book published in the bible. What happened to Caleb? Well, he stayed obedient to God and WORKED FAITHFULLY under Joshua's leadership and got just what he wanted (Joshua 14:1-9). What are we gonna get?

"For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he puts down one, and sets up another." (Psalms 75: 6, 7).
