Soon, all of us will have cast our vote for the next president of the United States of America. Whether we go to the polls or not, we will have played a part in the outcome. For we will have represented one more vote for our candidate or one less vote for that candidate.
Romans 13:1 'Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.' (NASB)
This word “subjection”, in it's origin, depicts a soldier’s absolute obedience to his superior officer. The one exception to this command of subjection is when obedience to authority would require disobedience to God’s Word.
Romans 13:2 "Therefore, whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves.”
Opposition to any governing authority is rebellion against God.
Citizens, when we oppose the governing authority, whether Obama or Romney, republicans or democrats, we are rebelling against God.
Jesus was obedient to the governing authority unto death. He allowed the governing authority to arrest Him under false accusations, present false witnesses at a mock trial, sentence Him to death, beat and crucify Him.
Vote for who you choose, but be prepared to support and pray for the winner, because they are God's choice.
